MSU breaks ground on new equine research facility
November 2025
Monday, November 10 marked a major advancement in equine science with the groundbreaking of the Nancy Fair Link Laminitis Research Center. This specialized research facility will support leading-edge studies, diagnostics, and treatment innovations aimed at understanding and combating laminitis — one of the most challenging and painful conditions affecting horses.
Located at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, the project will be a 12,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility featuring a large multi-investigator laboratory and clinical research space. An adjacent 8,100-square-foot equine research barn will feature 24 stalls to house horses, enabling comprehensive in-lab and in-barn research to accelerate discovery.
We are proud to honor Nancy Fair Link’s enduring commitment to equine welfare as we begin construction on a center that will shape the future of equine health for generations to come.
