MSU unveils Jim & Thomas Duff Center
November 2025
EGH Architects, together with Dale Partners and Mississippi State University celebrate the fall 2025 opening of the Jim and Thomas Duff Center, a cutting-edge facility serving as the new home for the Department of Kinesiology, the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic (ADDC), and the Disability Resource Center. This state-of-the-art 102,000‑square‑foot building replaces the McCarthy Gymnasium enhancing campus accessibility and academic facilities.
A collaborative vision by EGH Architects, PA and Dale Partners Architects, PA and constructed by AnderCorp, this facility brings together the Department of Kinesiology—one of MSU’s largest academic programs—with the Mississippi Institute on Disabilities and its Autism & Developmental Disabilities Clinic, uniting education, research, community service, and real-world impact under one roof.
From 15 advanced research labs to dynamic clinical spaces, the Jim and Thomas Duff Center elevates academic infrastructure and anchors the future McCarthy Quadrangle, an iconic outdoor green space that aims to enhance campus connectivity and community gathering.
EGH Architects brought their expertise in architectural design and campus integration to the project, ensuring that the building blends with Mississippi State’s “Bulldog” architectural tradition while fulfilling modern functional needs. Dale Partners made key contributions in planning and conceptual design, working in tandem to deliver laboratories, classrooms and workspaces for both educational instruction and clinical services.
The Jim and Thomas Duff Center is a transformative addition to Mississippi State University, with inclusive education, disability resources and furthers a commitment to serving students and the community.
