MGCCC cuts ribbon on new STEM building

EGH was honored to join Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as they celebrated with a ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new 65,000-square-foot STEM Building on the Harrison County Campus. Students, faculty, community leaders, and industry partners gathered to mark the occasion with a tour.

This state-of-the-art facility brings together modern science laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, classrooms, and faculty offices, replacing outdated facilities and setting a new standard for innovation and student engagement.

Anchoring the west end of the original 1965 campus core, the building will serve as a catalyst for future campus growth and reflects MGCCC’s commitment to advancing STEM education.

The facility features cutting-edge equipment intended to prepare students for high-demand careers along the Gulf Coast and beyond. Administrators emphasized that the building represents not only a significant investment in education, but also in the region’s future workforce. With the new STEM center officially open, MGCCC aims to become an even stronger hub for research, creativity, and career-ready training.
