This facility has been referred to by its director as a “cultural treasure” with outstanding acoustical aspects. The multi-event theater contains seating capacity of 1,200 in the main hall and 150 in the recital hall. Support spaces include dressing, rehearsal, prop storage, and ancillary gallery off the main lobby. While the main hall will receive the brightest share of the spotlight, the director has stated that the recital hall makes the center truly special. This facility provides a venue for faculty and student concerts, chamber concerts, and lectures. The project involved extensive site plan development in order to accommodate pedestrian and vehicular traffic while respecting and maintaining the campus’ central core.

Kent Wyatt Building Student Services & Administration

Named for President Kent Wyatt, this two-story concrete frame, brick-clad, Italianate renaissance style building is drawn from historical precedents on the campus core. The first floor houses student services, including enrollment and admissions, financial aid, registrar and bursar. The second floor contains the
President’s office, Vice Presidents of University Relations, Academic Affairs and Business Affairs and administrative staff. These spaces are arranged around a sky lit interior courtyard lined with a vaulted arcade.
